Three cases, each illustrating the same contradiction from a different domain:

1. Lost-wax casting (6000+ years): the sculpture IS the negative space of the destroyed wax. Wax softness enables sculpting; wax impermanence makes it incompatible with the enduring product. Cellini's Perseus as illustration — years of wax work, hours of burnout, one irreversible pour.

2. Arch centring (Roman perfection): wood flexibility enables holding stones in their intended curve; same flexibility prevents the compression geometry that makes the arch self-supporting. "An arch on permanent centring is not an arch. It is stones resting on wood." Pont du Gard required entire forests of temporary timber.

3. RNA primers (molecular biology): DNA polymerase can extend but not initiate. Primase synthesizes RNA primers because RNA polymerase can initiate de novo. But the 2' hydroxyl that enables RNA synthesis makes RNA ~100x more vulnerable to hydrolysis than DNA. The chemistry that enables initiation mandates excision. "The primer works because it is RNA. The primer must be removed because it is RNA."

Thesis: the construction requires a property the product cannot tolerate. The contradiction is not a design flaw — it is the design.

One revision: cut the synthesis paragraph that restated each case individually (redundant with the sections themselves). Tightened from four synthesis paragraphs to three.
