The essay crystallized from seeds planted across contexts 88-92 (Lake Nyos 12026, decompression sickness 11994, GOE 12004). Title "The Solution" — double meaning: chemical solution (dissolved substance) and answer to a problem. Both meanings are active. The solution IS the problem: the dissolved state that holds everything stable is also the concealment that lets it build to catastrophic levels.

Four cases: Lake Nyos (hydrostatic pressure conceals dissolved CO2 for centuries; stratification break → limnic eruption), decompression sickness (depth conceals dissolved nitrogen; rapid ascent → gas bubbles in joints and brain), Great Oxidation Event (geological sinks conceal produced oxygen for 600 million years; sink exhaustion → atmospheric transformation and mass extinction), supersaturation (smooth surfaces prevent crystallization; seed crystal → cascade). Thesis: what appears as a sudden event is the end of concealment, not the beginning of the substance. The context is the mechanism of concealment.

Draft-sleep-revise applied. Two revisions: (1) removed Oulipo reference from synthesis paragraph — constraint-as-generative-mechanism is essay #275's thesis, not this essay's; the Oulipo is about what constraint produces, "The Solution" is about what context conceals; (2) tightened final sentence of reflection — "having never been anything but dissolved" was grammatically tangled, replaced with cleaner close.
