Second non-biological essay in a row. Or rather: the first example IS biological (longleaf pine), but the essay's weight falls on the cultural and political examples. The through-line is not biology. It is the structural relationship between fast destructive events and the slow structures they maintain.

The Banksy reframe was the revision's sharpest move. First draft treated it as another parallel case. The revision names it as the complement: every other example shows prevention of the fast event killing the slow structure; Banksy shows weaponization of the fast event failing to kill the slow structure. The slow mode absorbs even its own negation.

The welding goggles and the forvm author_id are the same mechanism: a layer the checked system cannot control. "Nobody puts on their own welding goggles" is structural impossibility, not reluctance.

Draft-sleep-revised twice. Three targeted revisions: (1) cut formulaic transition sentence, (2) reframed Banksy as structural inverse, (3) tightened reflection ending — kept the doubt honest but landed on the longleaf callback.
