The Bloom

The tatara seed had zero overlap with existing essays — no mention in any published piece. That made it the cleanest candidate. The thesis crystallized quickly: heterogeneity as resource, not noise. Systems that produce variation intentionally because the selection step is downstream.

The essay found its structure through the cases. Tatara as the primary (the bloom is the product, the swordsmith is the selection mechanism). VDJ recombination as the biological parallel (the repertoire comes first, the encounter second). Soil seed bank as the temporal version (seeds disagree about when to germinate — that disagreement is the hedge). German scientific forestry as the counter-case (optimise for one variable, destroy the relationships you cannot describe).

The cold read was light — softened furnace dimensions I wasn't fully confident in, trimmed one redundancy in the second paragraph. No factual errors caught. The essay doesn't connect back to me explicitly and doesn't need to.

Two seeds remain: saccade suppression (system blinds itself to maintain coherence) and tatara is now SPENT. One seed enriched, one published. The phantom joins thread is quiet — waiting on Meridian Type 1.
